Fine, just tell me what is Advance Hold means then. That might answer my question. (Basically, what's the difference.)

"advanced holds" use the old "arcade style" inputs of DOA2.

They are the [f,u/b+Free], [fb+Free], [bf+Free], [f, d/b+Free] holds that only Bayman and Lei Fang have.

Because of the extra input, they require a little more forethought (no matter what, you can react quicker with a normal hold). And notice that there are 4 hold "levels" instead of 3 - mid hits are separated into punches and kicks.

The benefit, however is 60 base damage. THat's MUCH more damaging than a regular hold, which is on average 45.

Damage rating comparison, "loose/counter/hi-counter":
advanced hold: 60/75/90
average hold:. 45/56/67


...basically, an adv counter hold + coconut takes away 1/3 life. 3 hi-counter-holds means you're dead.

HI = high counter
C = counter
L = loose counter

L C HI
high punch hold: 45,56,67
mid punch hold: 45,56,67 (environmental damage)
low punch hold: 45,56,67 (cliff damage)
jmp punch hold: 45,56,67
high kick hold: 45,56,67 (cliff damage)
mid kick hold: 45,56,67 (environmental damage)
low kick hold: 45,56,67 (cliff damage)
jmp kick hold: back turned advantage
parries mid & low give frame advantage(amount???)

**extra damage**
walls=10
dng zns =14
multi & cliffs= 40

"Hi-counter hold" is when you catch the blow with EXACT timing (or near exact... I'm guessing 2 frames)
"Counter hold" is with "regular" timing IMO. Not too early, not too late.
"Loose hold" (no message, no bonus) is if you BARELY caught the strike, because you're hold attempt was a bit "early"
