Hmm, I have DOA2:LE for the DC. I come here since the DC is dead. I wonder how much the DC GenFu applies to the XBox GenFu. But here are some safe-after-1st-hit and pretty damaging combos for this 70 y/o tank (on the DC).

1. u+P or f+K or S+K, db+P, d+P+K, f+P, P, P+K. 79pts or 87pts or 91pts. Palm upper or Step thrust kick or Leap toe touch (enemy stunned), Low backfist (enemy in sit stun), Death Touch (enemy in air), Side Bodycheck Combo juggle.

2. u+P, df+P, df+P, DF+P, f+P, P, P+K. 87pts.

Don't use f+K (step thrust kick) or S+K (Leaping toe touch) to start this combo because then this becomes blockable or counterable. Palm upper (stuns), Indecision slice combo, Upwards riot chip (enemy airborne), Side bodycheck combo juggle.

3. u+P or f+K or S+K, F+K, F+K, f+P, P, P+K. 81pts or 89pts or 93pts Palm upper or Step thrust kick or Leap toe touch (stuns), Shot knee and hopkick (in air), Side bodycheck combo juggle.

4. u+P, df, df+P, P+K, d+P+K, f+P, P, P+K. 99pts.

This doesn't work with f+K or S+K because enemy is airborne too soon. To use

f+K or S+K, go to #5.

Palm upper (stuns), Overhead slice (2nd stun), Headbutt (3rd stun), Death touch (in air), Side bodycheck combo juggle.

5. f+K or S+K, df, df+P, d+P+K, f+P, P, P+K. 95pts or 99pts. Step thrust kick or Leap toe touch(stuns), Overhead slice (keeps stun), Death touch (airborne), Side bodycheck combo juggle.

All 3 combo starter stun moves hit high, making them predictable, so they should never be tossed out at random. But once the first one hits, everything that follows is guaranteed unless you delay too long. After the 1st stunner, you have a choice of follow-ups which can hit either low or mid, to provide confusion.

There are other stun moves, but they don't lead to strings as long as these.

Gen Fu has only 1 long range rush move (qcf+P,P). Everything else are slow, short, and almost always end with a mid hit. This means his normal combos are extremely easy to counter if you just dial them in as fast as possible. Gen Fu combos require that you delay, or F-cancel and customize your own combo strings. His combos seem slow, regular, and easy to counter to the eye, which is deceptive because if you skillfully break and change-up moves midcombo, you will catch the counter-happy enemy with many 1-shot non-combo moves which actually string together.

qcb+F+P (Unlock the chains of the 3 emperors) throw keeps the enemy

standing, so follow up quickly with either an attack or another throw.

Best grapple is the multithrow (Rolling earth wind) f,f+F+P > f+F+P, which does 70pts damage and allows you to dash in then throw.

Even the qcf+F+P (Close the clouds and grasp the moon, the "10 foot toss") followed by Death touch > bodycheck combo (d+P+K, b, f+P) does only 65pts damage (unless you're facing a wall).

On the note of wall throws, the above 10 foot toss > Death touch > bodycheck combo serves as the best "wall throw", since you can do this even when you're far from the wall. As long as the bodycheck combo shoots the enemy into a wall (and it has a long "shot" range), you get wall damage.

If anyone can revise my DOA2:LE GenFu talk to include updates/corrections for DOA3, then thanks.

GenFu I like better than the hyperspeed characters like Ayane. GenFu is more to my speed, methodical and calculated. He has power, but not over characters like Ein, which makes you concentrate on calm strategy to compensate, rather than mashing. With skill, he can make up for the lack of speed and range.

Thanks for the Gen Fu feedback, guys.

On a side note, I believe his name in Chinese translates into "Quintessence Axe". It could even be "Underworld Axe", but that doesn't fit the old man.

Since I know Chinese, I'll translate it.

Gen= Shake/EarthQuake

Fu= Tiger

so it means Earth Quaking Tiger, even tho it might not make any sense to you guys, his name is very cool in Chinese ^_^ Yesterday I played him in DOA3, his combobliti becomes much harder because some parts of the combo you need to F-Cancel and I wasn't able to pull off the stun-dbP-dP+K-F-fP-P-P+K tho I'll get it eventually after some practice. also I can't seen to pull off his side body check move at all and I was kinda pissed (need to look at the movelist again) anyway, his throw ownz when upagainst the wall^_-

When fighting Genfu and he get overly combo happy let him have it with mid counters. A particularly devilish trick to do when fighting him is to just wait for him to finish a combo after stand blocking every hit wait for the end and take advantage of his slow recovery time with any damaging throw your character can do. Be careful when you see a player doing a move that has Gen reel his fists back and inhaling air because this is like a Tekken unblockable in a way since it will stagger you even if you block leading to Gen being able to punish you severely. If you see this move coming be ready to mid counter and wait til you actually see his hand begin to move towards you because if you counter immediately when he begins the move the counter will miss(if your opponents goes for the maximum delay) and he will blast you away for major damage especially if you hit a wall.

gen-fu's best throw is the qcf+S+P... you just have to get more creative on airborne opponents...

107 qcf+S+P, db+P+K, P+K,f+P, f+P,P,P+K (hard!)
104 qcf+S+P, db+P+K, u+P, u+P, f+P,P,P+K
103 qcf+S+P, db+P+K, db+P+K, f+P,P,P+K
102 qcf+S+P, db+P+K, u+P, df+K,P,P
96 qcf+S+P, db+P+K, u+P, u+P, d+P+K,P
88 qcf+S+P, db+P+K, u+P, d+P+K,P
